At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

GoDaddy's strategy is to empower everyday entrepreneurs to launch and grow their ventures through the power of our community and global scale. To do this effectively, we must build and enhance a scalable platform that delivers the capabilities our customers need. As a Principal Platform Product Manager, you'll play a critical role in accomplishing this mission by collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to document customer and business needs, then design and build capabilities that meet these needs. You'll serve as a technical Product Manager for backend Platform Capabilities, guiding Engineering teams through platform implementation and encouraging adoption of these capabilities across the organization. This role is perfect for someone who celebrates each step our teams take toward a "One System" Mindset by promoting the adoption and reuse of platform capabilities to reduce silos and waste. If you're passionate about building scalable platforms that enable other teams to construct products faster and more efficiently, while driving technical excellence and strategic thinking across the organization, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact.

        What you'll get to do...

        • Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering to identify and design flexible Platform Capabilities that can be used by other Engineering teams to construct products that meet customer and business needs.
        • Serve as a technical Product Manager for backend Platform Capabilities, working closely with Engineering Managers to build and launch these capabilities.
        • Build a 3+ year roadmap for Platform Capabilities that includes project plans, requirements, dependency maps, and cost models.
        • Guide other Engineering teams through technical adoption of the Platform Capabilities you create and communicate progress to Leadership through written and in-person updates.
        • Drive continual improvements in functionality, ease of use, performance, and cost by using experimentation and data to guide your decisions.

        Your experience should include...

        • 7+ years of Software Development experience building scalable platforms with deep understanding of backend systems and architecture.
        • 3+ years leading successful engineering teams and driving prioritization for new software launches and post-launch optimizations.
        • 3+ years integrating customer feedback into system requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
        • Experience defining a technology vision and successful launch of software systems that accomplish this vision.
        • Proven ability to build multi-year roadmaps, manage dependencies across teams, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

        You might also have...

        • Experience with platform-as-a-service (PaaS) or infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) models.
        • Background in API design and developer experience optimization.
        • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architectures.
        • Track record of driving platform adoption and measuring success through metrics and KPIs.
        • MBA or advanced technical degree in Computer Science or related field.
