At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This position may be a hybrid or fully remote position, as decided by your manager. If designated as hybrid, you’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office location, so you should live within commuting distance. If designated as remote, you’ll be working remotely from your home and may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings. What you'll get to do...

Join our diverse team at GoDaddy as Director of Engineering and embrace a leadership role in crafting and implementing solutions for our hosting products. Our role will have a direct influence across multiple teams and product lines including Managed WordPress, Web Hosting and SSL. We offer an excellent opportunity to develop high-scale solutions that effect millions of our customers. Our Partners Architecture team provides guidance, mentorship, and design assistance to numerous teams across GoDaddy's business units.

Join forces with our dedicated team of engineers and help craft our high scale products.

• Collaborate with teams to build solutions for products across our hosting product lines
• Utilize innovative workload isolation solutions such as EBF and containers
• Mentor our engineers helping to them to reach their full potential
• Devise outstanding code, innovate, lead, and be conducive to technical architecture for scalable secure systems
• Determine if workloads should be targeted to the cloud or our datacenters
• Craft highly scalable, highly available applications
• Embrace newer technologies such as serverless, micro-services, containers, and distributed architectures

Your experience should include...

• 10+ years validated experience in a software engineering role and in building large scale applications or solutions
• 2+ years’ experience in Cloud computing, using publicly available services (AWS Services preferred)
• Strong exposure to multiple programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, Node, PHP, etc
• Expertise in testing and deploying code using CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
• Practical hands-on experience of containers; docker preferred

You might also have...

• Experience in the hosting industry
• Familiarity with WordPress
• Experience running large scale PKI infrastructure, including your own CA
• Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
