At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a hybrid position. You’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance. Hybrid teams may work in-office as much as a few times a week or as little as once a month or quarter, as decided by leadership. The hiring manager can share more about what hybrid work might look like for this team.

Join our team

This is a hybrid role, where you'll be expected to work from the Gurugram office a minimum of three days per week.

If you are passionate about tackling complex technical challenges, outsmarting fraudsters, and helping millions of entrepreneurs grow, you’ll fit right in.

We’re a team of curious, fast-moving technologists building the future of commerce at GoDaddy. Our teams are at the heart of the GoDaddy Commerce mission – blending innovative machine learning, scalable platforms, and smart experimentation to protect and grow our ecosystem of small businesses worldwide.

We take pride in running one of the most advanced risk management systems in the payments industry, maintaining world-class fraud loss numbers while scaling rapidly across global markets.

As an Engineering Director, you’ll lead a highly skilled, globally distributed team of ~45 engineers and managers across Risk, Onboarding, Growth, GoDaddy Capital, and Admin Tools — spanning India, Europe, the U.S., and LATAM.

What you'll get to do...

  • Evolve the Risk, Onboarding, and Admin Tools platform into a modular and scalable architecture, driving platform unification by consolidating shared services such as aggregation, ML, and risk rules engines.
  • Enable rapid experimentation and iteration across Growth, GoDaddy Capital, and other high-growth verticals, fully owning the tech roadmap and ensuring high-priority projects are included in quarterly planning.
  • Partner closely with Product, Data Science, and Risk Ops to deliver measurable business impact, representing the organization at executive forums and monthly business reviews.
  • Lead annual and quarterly roadmap planning, fostering confident commitments and predictable delivery from your teams.
  • Establish meaningful OKRs for individuals, guiding growth and accountability while ensuring engineering excellence through strong design, operational rigor, and continuous learning.
  • Cultivate leadership within the organization by mentoring engineering managers and principal engineers, and building strong regional teams.

Your experience should include...

  • Passion for data driven decisions and customer focus.
  • 5+ years in people leadership along with 3+ years at the Director level, leading and inspiring large size engineering organizations (20+ engineers).
  • Backend systems and architecture knowledge; experience maintaining highly available systems (front-end familiarity is a plus).
  • Strong domain expertise in Payments and Risk.
  • Experience maintaining high availability (Tier-0) services.
  • Demonstrated success in roadmap planning and delivery using agile frameworks.
  • Experienced managing teams across multiple geo-locations with operational excellence.

We've got your back...  We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, retirement savings (e.g., 401k, pension schemes), bonus/incentive eligibility, equity grants, participation in our employee stock purchase plan, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits including parental leave. GoDaddy’s benefits vary based on individual role and location and can be reviewed in more detail during the interview process.
