Location Details: Remote - United States

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

GoDaddy Payments helps small businesses and power sellers get paid, in person and online. Our Point of Sale line — Smart Terminal Duo, Flex, and Pro — gives merchants a fast, reliable, trusted way to take payments across the counter, and it spans hardware, operating systems, and payments infrastructure. This team owns that entire device stack: the physical fleet, the OS that runs on it, and the checkout experiences merchants and their customers use every day. We work closely with hardware engineering, OS and firmware teams, ODM/OEM manufacturing partners, and payments engineering to ship devices merchants trust with their revenue. If you want to own a physical product merchants rely on every day, along with the software economics behind it, this is that role.

What you'll get to do…

  • Own the roadmap and full lifecycle for the POS hardware fleet — proprietary OEM devices plus third-party ODM terminals and accessories — from concept through engineering, design, and production validation (EVT/DVT/PVT) to end of life.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with ODM/OEM manufacturers and component suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Own product requirements for the device operating system: performance, security, update and patch cadence, app management, and compatibility across the fleet.
  • Define the card-present checkout experience — transaction flows, tipping, signature, receipts, surcharging (Rate Saver), and offline payments.
  • Translate hardware and OS tradeoffs into business outcomes — cost, margin, NPS, churn, and competitive win rate — and represent the POS product line in roadmap reviews and planning cycles.

Your experience should include…

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning hardware or hardware-adjacent products such as consumer electronics, IoT devices, or payment terminals.
  • Direct experience managing a device portfolio spanning proprietary and third-party (ODM/OEM) hardware, including vendor selection and commercial negotiation.
  • Working knowledge of device operating systems — requirements, update management, and security — without needing a firmware engineering background.
  • Understanding of the payments ecosystem: EMV, PCI compliance, card-present transaction flows, and acquirer and network relationships.
  • A track record of taking hardware through full development cycles (EVT/DVT/PVT) and certification processes.

You might also have…

  • Experience with SMB or merchant-facing products.
  • International hardware deployment experience, including certification and localization.
  • Background or fluency in industrial design and hardware or firmware architecture.
  • Experience with Android-based device platforms and device networking and connectivity.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience or skillset doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement. We value a wide range of backgrounds and transferable skills, and we are excited to support learning and growth.
