Hybrid: This is a hybrid position. You’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance. Our team develops and maintains the service and infrastructure behind GoDaddy's Managed Hosting WordPress Provisioning system. We operate a mission-critical system that supports over 1 million customer websites and applications, ensuring reliability and business continuity at a massive scale.

What you'll get to do...

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services powering GoDaddy’s managed hosting provisioning infrastructure
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs that integrate across multiple hosting platforms
• Work on distributed systems supporting over 1 million websites
• Improve system scalability, reliability, and performance in a high-availability environment
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Hosting, SRE, Customer Care, UI/UX, Security, and Architecture teams
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to shared engineering standards and best practices
• Assist with monitoring and incident response activities as part of the team’s on-call rotation
• Participate in technical discussions and design reviews to help improve our provisioning platform
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule approximately one week every six weeks, providing up to 8 hours of coverage per day, which may include weekends.

Your experience should include...

• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Some experience developing backend services or RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in a general-purpose programming language such as Go, Python, or PHP
• Experience integrating a wide variety of technologies via API consumption and production
• Foundational understanding of distributed systems concepts
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
• Experience working in Agile environments, participating in sprint ceremonies
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and operations teams
• Passion for clean code, coding standards, and long-term system health

You might also have...

• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation solutions
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modelling
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (logging, metrics, alerting)
• A strong ownership mentality with the ability to work independently
• A continuous improvement outlook and passion for learning
